Dishoveled Bums
A place for the disaffected archaeological community.

Learn About Dishoveled Bums
We designed this website as a place for anyone in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) to unite in a common goal of improving the working conditions for people across the industry and to facilitate change—not only within the industry, but also in regards to the tribal entities whose interests and concerns are interwoven into this work.

The people who choose this industry do it for a reason. There is a certain thrill that archaeology incites, but for some, the reality can look very different. In CRM, specifically, there is vast room for improvement in the way that workers are able to secure reliable employment, the technical organization of archaeological deposits, the integrity of the standards that are expected by the various corporations and governmental organizations involved, and the rigorous building of relationships with the tribal entities whose ancestral lands are being exploited and the active inclusion of their insights. We offer this site as a place to catalogue experiences and offer innovative solutions for the future.

To this end, we have set up this site to include things like a blog to discuss more in-depth plans for change, a section for current news related to the industry, a section for technical articles/research/current projects, social media and photography, and eventually a section for upcoming events and organizing.
